This £60m turnover business have gone from strength to strength in recent years, even when faced with the tricky times that Brexit and Covid have forced us all to face. They have cash in the bank, a very healthy order book and ahigh performing senior management team that has clients and employees needs at the forefront of the mind.

This company’s project portfolio spans across new build and refurbishment projects, including residential (spanning from mid-level right up to super prime), education, hospitality, and heritage from £1m up to £30m in value. They cover the entire Oxfordshire region, as well as surrounding areas but never reach too far away from their head office and area of expertise. Clients include the oxford colleges and universities where this company have an amazing history of delivering work, private estates where heritage work is undertaken, and high net worth individuals who employ this business to build them their dream homes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is seeking an up-and-coming Quantity Surveyor to bolster and strengthen the commercial department and support on an influx of new projects including several high spec hospitality and super prime residential projects across Oxfordshire. Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, the role will be supporting existing members of the team, where you will gain experience across a range of projects based either in the Oxfordshire HQ or on a project. You will be working closely with the Commercial Director, Manager and Senior Surveyors, offering excellent exposure to well experienced members of staff and amazing first hand training. A role at this level within this mid-sized, regional business will allow you to gain experience on a wide range of projects, from £1m refurbishments up to huge new builds, from low to high spec and from simple to complex.

This amazing opportunity will be best suited to a degree qualified candidate with a few solid years’ experience working for a main contractor. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the QS role and should be able to manage small jobs as a number 1 (although this will not be a requirement).

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

You will be well rewarded for your hard work with a remuneration package that will correspond to the individuals experience and skills. The guideline basic salary is £35,000 – £45,000 (Negotiable), however this will be dependent upon the specific skills and experience of each individual and is not written in stone.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working as a QS within a main contractor is essential, ideally having spent over 3 years with a well-established MC in a Quantity Surveying role. The perfect candidate will be degree qualified and will have experience of educational projects, although this is not essential. The successful candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious and keen to progress their career further. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player. A consistent employment record is essential with at least two years at each employer.
