Our client a leading leading UK provider of specialist property services are looking for a head of commercial to oversee their maintenance division based in Essex

Our client is well established property services business who specialise in building services, mechanical, electrical and renewable energy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is currently looking for an experienced Head of Commercial to join the Commercial team. You will be responsible for driving forward the commercial capabilities of the business. Building, training and developing the commercial team, working with internal and external stakeholders on contract terms, and ensuring that the maximum possible value is obtained from all aspects of the contract. Close alignment with the rest of the leadership team to help shape and set strategy for the future.

Duties to include but not be limited to;

  • Carry out quantity surveying services.
  • Ownership of the commercial aspects of the contract
  • Provide procurement and contract advice and prepare the same as required
  • Maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management on projects
  • Commercially manage and control sub-contractor packages on projects.
  • Protection of the Company’s contractual position on all contracts.
  • Prepare financial reports, final accounts and claim documents as required.
  • Review contract conditions and provide risk management advice to understand the company’s contractual obligations.
  • Meet Clients to review and discuss work carried out.
  • Review budgetary advice including cash flows.
  • Ensure sub-contractor orders are placed in due time and in a way that protects the Company’s contractual position.
  • Prepare / review valuations and issue all appropriate notices in line with the Company’s policies and the contractual terms.
  • Produce reports as required including the preparation of CVR information.
  • Produce and keep adequate records in order to safeguard the Company’s contractual position
  • Compliance with both ours and Clients management systems

REQUIREMENTS

  • Contracts knowledge including traditional, partnering and local authority
  • Strong knowledge of contract law
  • Significant experience in Social Housing
  • Qualified to HND level or higher, ideally a RICS professional
  • Must be able to demonstrate job loyalty
