ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client are a specialist groundwork contractor serving the UK modular building sector, delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions to some of the industry’s most respected modular builders. Their services span from surveys and drainage to steelwork, M&E, surfacing, and handover, with a core focus on providing a seamless client experience.

We are now seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead multiple groundwork and enabling projects from inception through completion, ensuring excellence in delivery, communication, and client satisfaction.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of groundwork projects in the modular sector, coordinating across trades, managing deadlines, and ensuring each site runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes and long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage groundwork and enabling works from mobilisation to handover across multiple modular construction projects
  • Lead project planning, site setup, and coordination of key services (drainage, steelwork, M&E, surfacing, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and CDM requirements
  • Monitor site activity, drive progress, and maintain cost and programme control
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, resolving challenges with practical, solutions-driven approaches
  • Provide regular reporting on programme, costs, risks, and progress to senior management and clients
  • Foster strong client relationships by maintaining open and proactive communication
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to continual process improvements

REQUIREMENTS

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in groundwork, civil engineering, or modular construction
  • Strong technical understanding of groundwork operations and enabling works
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects and subcontractor teams
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets and procurement
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and client-facing skills
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally as required
