ABOUT THE ROLE

The role:

  • Primarily providing support within the Estimating Department and the pricing of tenders.

Duties

  • Responsible for supporting the estimating team.
  • Responsible for preparing and issuing package enquiries, to subcontractors
  • Analysing quotations from subcontractors,
  • Updating and monitoring a Tender event schedule
  • Attending package workshops, and internal team meetings
  • Inputting, monitoring and updating the package analysis information from package comparisons
  • Preparation of tenders
  • Attending and presenting at tender adjudications
  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including presentation
  • Effective written communication and report-writing ability
  • A sense of ethical responsibility
  • A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
  • Teamworking skills
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Good risk management identification and mitigation experience
  • Always looking to develop and improve the way in which the tasks can be completed effectively.
  • Taking responsibility for given tasks.
  • Willingness to put maximum effort into the completion of tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

As an Assistant Estimator, you can expect to receive a competitive basic salary of up to £40,000. In addition to the basic salary, the company offers a range of benefits, including a car allowance, pension, health, and travel allowance. As well as long-term career prospects and progression, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with Senior Estimators and the Pre-Construction Director who can offer support should you need it.
