My client is a privately owned, £30m turnover construction group with excellent financial backing, a highly experienced and stable board of directors and a fully stacked order book. With a focus and speciality in residential refurbishment and maintenance, this business focus in two core areas; their main contracting division, which focuses on open tender JCT D&B contract projects within the m25 consisting of refurbishment projects from £500k up to around £7m, and their partnerships division which was formed to support measured term refurbishment contracts with housing associations.
New work seems to be easy to come by for this business, which is giving them huge scope for growth across both divisions throughout both the operational and commercial departments. This business likes to hire from grass roots when they can, giving opportunity to driven and intelligent individuals to train and learn the industry from the ground up. When hiring for experienced positions, stable career history and relatable experience to the project types are essential, including knowledge of measured term contracts and JCT contracts.
ABOUT THE ROLE
My client is currently looking for a highly experienced Contracts / Operations Manager join, settle in and lead the Partnerships division of this organisation, overseeing, managing and improving all operations across the already secured HA measured term contracts. Working closely with the Board of Directors, this is a big role that requires someone at a suitable level of seniority with experience in measured terms contract, ideally having worked in a similar role in the same sector. The immediate aim of the role will be to manage the 2 existing refurbishment contracts, whilst building up the team, improving processes and looking to add value wherever possible. This individual will be responsible for arranging the best possible route for the projects and overseeing the teams that will deliver them. Once this individual is settled into the role there will be opportunity or a Directors position, including shares and all that comes with it. As the contracts are spread across southern England, you will be expected to travel when required to visit sites and satellite offices.

The guideline basic salary is £100,000 – £120,000 (Negotiable), however this will be dependent upon the specific skills and experience of everyone and is not written in stone.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful professional will be comfortable working as a Business unit director, operating at corporate level, dealing with senior stakeholders of all varieties, but who is also who is happy to keep their boots on the ground and be involved in the projects. They can be from commercial or operational background but must have the correct project and contract experience with direct management level experience of Measured Term JCT contracts.
The successful candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious, and keen to progress their career further with a plan to step into a senior management role once bedded into the business. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player. A consistent employment record is essential with at least two years at each employer.
