ABOUT THE ROLE

About the role

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and energetic Technical Design Manager to join our busy technical team! You will direct the technical team and provide a first-class customer service to all our staff & customers.

This role is diverse covering all areas of issuing project specifications, drawings, and calculations for our external wall insulation and render systems to our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Create and issue project specifications, AutoCAD drawings, U-value and interstitial condensation calculations to customers and clients according to policy.

Advise customers on technical specification, through in-depth knowledge of our EWI, render systems, SFS brick slip systems and more.

Provide NBS technical specifications Licata products.

Manage incoming technical queries in a timely manner within the technical team.

Develop and maintain solid relationships with customers to facilitate business and customer needs.

Work with approved contractors to support additional detailing as required for specific projects.

Ensure good relations and communications with all members of the team, providing excellent customer care in an efficient manner.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant construction and product legislation.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all legislative requirements in particular Building Regulations, BBA Approvals and British Standards in the UK.

Continue to develop a clear understanding of future market trends, industry and competitor developments.

Continually demonstrate commitment to the company values, adhering to all policies and procedures in order to obtain maximum customer satisfaction.

Ensure compliance with company policies and the Quality and Health & Safety management system.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification within a building, architectural or engineering related discipline.

Experience in Auto CAD 2D.

Experience using JPA/Build desk software for U-value calculations.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel

Experience in reading and understanding architectural/construction drawings.

Knowledge and understanding of NBS specifications.

Awareness of relevant construction and product related regulations, planning, building control and NHBC.

Experience in 3D drawing software

 

  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Extensive systems knowledge
  • Technical knowledge of external wall insulation and render systems
  • Construction qualification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAD a distinct advantage, although training will be available for the right candidate.
  • Technical knowledge of external wall insulation and render systems

Outside work, I regularly train for Triathlon and Ironman events but also enjoy a good night out! I am a proud Watford FC season ticket holder and coach my son’s football team on the weekend. Other interests include live music/going to gigs, playing snooker and getting away with the family.
