Our client is a fast growing, slick and unique construction organisation who has started to make waves across industry. The company is formed from a number of ex-directors from one of the biggest construction firms in the UK, and has carried their top tier contractor mentality into this business currently turning over £50m. This top tier experience along with a lean team and solid financial backing gives this business and edge when bidding projects, and the flexibility to move and change with the times, something that in this economic climate a lot of companies are struggling to do. They work predominantly as a Principle Contractor, but can also offer a range of services alongside their core business including offering pre-construction and construction management contracts as opposed to Design & Build, JV Partner agreements or working as a Built Environment Consultant. Our client works with developers, investors, contractors, product manufacturers and specialist consultants across a range of residential, regeneration, education and commercial projects, to provide a complete construction service.
With all of this in the arsenal, cash in the bank and new projects looming in and around London and the South East, this exciting young business are looking to grow exponentially across the different teams from pre-construction to commercial to delivery. This business will suit people who are well polished from top tier contractor background who are fed up with slow moving processes and big company bureaucracy, who want to join a fast paced and flexible organisation with big ideas and huge promise.
ABOUT THE ROLE
My client is currently looking for a Design Manager with experience of leading the design process and managing all design and technical elements design team on central London refurbishment and new build projects. The candidate will manage the design process in order to develop a design compliant with all contract requirements and in the most cost effective way. All information will be fully coordinated in order to deliver the project on time, within budget and to meet the client requirements.
This position requires a Design Manager with a strong history of managing London projects through delivery the delivery phase. the ideal candidate will have worked on logistically complex new build and refurb projects on tight spaces in central London. My client are keen to find someone with strong technical knowledge and will offer the opportunity to progress within the business before, during and after this project.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience of working as a Design Manager within a main contractor is essential. The perfect candidate will be degree qualified and must be trustworthy, reliable and conscientious and keen to progress their career further. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player. A consistent employment record is essential along with a desire to bed into the business and progress up the ranks.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
The salary will be dependent on the individuals’ level of experience and is not set in stone. The company offers excellent opportunities and offer a basic salary of between £60,000 – £70,000 depending on the individuals’ level – plus a generous benefits package. The company encourages promotion for candidates that are enthusiastic and competent. Employees will be promoted at a rate that is comfortable for their abilities rather than within a set company structure.
