We are working on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor delivering large-scale water and infrastructure projects across the North West. With a strong pipeline of secured work and a focus on framework-led delivery, they are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to strengthen their planning and pre-construction team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead the pre-construction planning process for major civil engineering frameworks, including hands-on development of tender programmes using Primavera P6. This hybrid role blends technical planning expertise with strategic pre-construction leadership, playing a key role from bid through to project delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrable experience in pre-construction/planning roles within civil engineering/infrastructure
Advanced user of Primavera P6 (essential: cost and resource loading)
Familiarity with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
Experience on water or infrastructure frameworks highly desirable
Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
Proficiency in Excel; Power BI or MS Project experience is advantageous
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
Develop robust tender programmes using Primavera P6, including cost/resource loading
Manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with contract requirements
Collaborate with estimating, commercial, and design teams for accurate delivery plans
Ensure NEC3/4 contract compliance in all programme submissions
Lead the transition from tender to delivery phase with clear handovers
Maintain and update live schedules, track progress, and produce regular reports
Conduct critical path and float analysis, advising on risk and mitigation
Facilitate collaborative planning meetings with internal/external stakeholders
