Project Commercial Manager in London


Are you a Project Commercial Manager who has experience of working on major projects in London? Are you seeking a new exciting opportunity to work with one of the leading piling contractors in Europe?


My client is a global specialist piling contractor. They are an international company with sites and projects all around the globe. Their main purpose is to provide designs and technique ideas for large structures, cut-off walls, piled foundations and ground improvement installations. Their organisation have been trading for over 70 years and as a group, they currently have a turnover of over 1 billion euros per year, with the view of this continuously growing over the coming years.


My client is looking to expand their team and take someone on, on a 1-year fixed-term basis, with the view of appointing them permanently. Their current commercial manager is relocating to the Middle East but staying within the company, so they’re looking for a direct replacement for him, who can hit the ground running. They’re looking for someone to join the HS2 scheme in Euston valued at £27M, commuting a minimum of 3 days a week to the site, to help oversee this project until its completion in August 2024. The project is currently at the pre-construction stage but will mobilise in mid-April this year. The Commercial Manager will report directly to both the Project Director (5 years working there) & the Commercial Director (8 years working there) while overseeing the whole commercial process. You will be hands-on and be the interface to the end client


As a successful global enterprise, my client is offering a competitive package, which will consist of a salary ranging between £60,000 – £75,000 depending on the level of experience. The package will also consist of a car allowance, healthcare and pension scheme. Due to the growing nature of the business and the amount they’re turning over, they’re constantly looking to acquire new projects for the future. If the client is satisfied with your performance over the remainder of the HS2 project, they will likely offer you a permanent position on their future projects


The successful candidate will require at least 6 years of experience, working for a main contractor or successful sub-contractor on major projects. Their preference is that you will be degree qualified, although this is not a necessity depending on your experience working on large-scale projects. You must hold a good working knowledge of the NEC form of contract and they’re looking for someone who can work well within the project team, whilst also building external relationships with clients
