Established in 1929, my clients provide a comprehensive range of prestigious internal and external building refurbishments. Based in Orpington, Kent, they primarily work for Building Surveyors and Architects. They also have an excellent working relationship with Local Authorities and Housing Trusts. They work to an ISO 9001 Quality Assurance system and are regularly assessed by BSI. They are also ISO 14001:2015 compliant, which means they are committed to minimizing their environmental impact. My client has had a fantastic career so far and turned over £10m in the last year.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role as a Quantity Surveyor within their fit-out and refurbishment company entails a multifaceted array of responsibilities. Tasked with cost estimation and budgeting, the Quantity Surveyor collaborates closely with project teams to formulate realistic financial frameworks for projects. Procurement and contract management form a core aspect, involving the sourcing of materials and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with contracts. The role includes active involvement in tendering and bid preparation, risk management, and meticulous cost control. Regular valuation and progress reporting, along with adept management of change and variation, ensure seamless project financial oversight. Maintaining stakeholder relationships and adhering to industry regulations are paramount. The Quantity Surveyor drives value engineering initiatives, champions health and safety, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. Team collaboration and an eye for detail characterise this pivotal role in our dynamic company.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years or more experience in Quantity Surveying in a similar environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial and financial principles, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in leading financial management and cost control on projects.
  • Strong organisational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of risk analysis and management, with the ability to resolve problems at an early stage.
  • IT Literate, and fully conversant with MS Word / Excel / Outlook
  • Full UK driving licence.

 

 

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

 

My client is offering a salary of £60,000 to £70,000 with a range and benefits and rewards which will be discussed at interview stage.
