ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior CDM Consultant to join the team in Eltham. The successful candidate will lead larger and more complex projects, contribute to the growth of the health and safety team, and play a key role in driving business development.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to combine hands-on project delivery with leadership and strategic input. You’ll work across multiple sectors, helping clients achieve compliance under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 while promoting a proactive safety culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Principal Designer and CDM advisory services on major and high-profile projects.
  • Oversee and mentor a small team of CDM Consultants, providing technical guidance and leadership.
  • Support and contribute to bids, tenders, and business development activities.
  • Advise clients, designers, and contractors on CDM compliance and design risk management.
  • Review designs, prepare pre-construction information, and develop health and safety files.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and delivery.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement within the team and wider consultancy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant degree in a construction or design discipline (e.g. Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Surveying).
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential).
  • Membership of IOSH, APS, or similar professional body (desirable).
  • Proven experience acting as Principal Designer and/or CDM Advisor.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015, design risk management, and health & safety legislation.
  • Demonstrable experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
  • Confident, commercially aware, and able to contribute to bids and client development.
  • Must be based within reasonable commuting distance of Eltham, able to attend the office at least 3 days per week.
