Our client is looking for senior commercial professional for a director designate position. They specialise in external and heritage works, including of façade repair and restoration.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a well-respected specialist with 20 years of experience in the field of façade repair and restoration market across London and the surrounding areas. They act as principle contractor, with projects ranging across the from High Specification Residential, Government, Private, Public and Leisure sectors.  The have worked on many prestigious projects including numerous London Theatres, Historic Markets, Historic Public Houses, and London Estates. Most of their work comes from repeat business and prestigious client referrals with whom they have built close relationships.

The success of the business can be attributed to a small dedicated team taking pride in their work, close working relationships with their clients and respect from within the industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Director Designate position, responsible for managing the cost management of all projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead two Estimators, support Contract Managers with commercial management responsibilities, and lead on larger projects:  prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and provide advice on procurement and contractual matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Estimators & Contract Managers with commercial responsibility, providing guidance and support as required.
  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Provide advice on procurement and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Monitor project costs, identifying potential issues and recommending appropriate actions to keep projects on track.
  • Review and approve project cost reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide input into the development of commercial strategies, supporting the Managing Director in driving business growth and profitability.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

The salary will be based on the individuals experience and capabilities. However, salary will be in the region of £85,000 – £105,000.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
