ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to bolster and strengthen the commercial department and support on an influx of new projects including a number of high spec education projects across oxford’s university campuses as well as a number of super prime residential projects. The successful individual will be the lead QS on a large project, managing a small commercial team. You will be working closely with the Commercial Director, Manager and junior team members. A role at this level within this mid-sized, regional business will allow you to gain experience a wide range of projects, from £1m refurbishments up to huge new builds, from low to high spec and from simple to complex.

This amazing opportunity will be best suited to a degree qualified candidate with a 10 solid years’ experience, or someone who is looking for long term progression into a commercial management role. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Senior QS role and should be able to manage large or multiple jobs as a number 1.

You will be well rewarded for your hard work with a remuneration package that will correspond to the individuals experience and skills. The guideline basic salary is £75,000 – £90,000 (Negotiable), however this will be dependent upon the specific skills and experience of each individual and is not written in stone.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working as a QS within a main contractor is essential, ideally having spent over 10 years with a well-established MC in a Quantity Surveying role. The perfect candidate will be degree qualified and will have experience of educational projects, although this is not essential. The successful candidate for this role must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious and keen to progress their career further. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player. A consistent employment record is essential with at least two years at each employer.
