ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding Birmingham office. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious professional to play a leading role in the delivery of cost consultancy and project management services on a range of high-profile developments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of pre- and post-contract cost management, including cost planning, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, tender documentation, and bills of quantities.
  • Leading value engineering and risk management exercises.
  • Administering contracts and managing change control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Delivering accurate cost reporting and financial analysis to clients.
  • Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior members of the cost consultancy team.

 

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will be:

  • MRICS qualified (or working towards chartership with significant relevant experience).
  • Experienced in both pre- and post-contract cost management across multiple sectors.
  • Commercially astute with strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Confident working independently, managing projects, and engaging with clients.
  • Excellent communicator with well-developed negotiation and report-writing skills.
  • Motivated, proactive, and able to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
