ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to successful company expansion and healthy order books, my client is recruiting for a SHEQ Manager. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for providing advice to Managers and Engineers regarding all health, safety and environmental issues to ensure legal compliance throughout all aspects of the companies activities. You will be accountable for investigating accidents and incidents when required to identify root cause and prevent reoccurrences; provide support in developing risk assessments and method statements; Embed the requirements of the ISO 14001, ISO9001 and ISO45001 Standards within the Company’s activities and prepare health, safety, and environmental evidence for provision to third party awarding bodies to achieve or maintain accreditations such as CHAS, SMAS, etc and submitting to awarding body audits where required to name just a few duties.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a NEBOSH certificate in construction and hold proven success of working in this senior role, whilst working for a construction company in the UK.
Due to location, you must reside within commutable distance from Gloucester and as projects are undertaken throughout the UK, you must hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel and on occasion, work away.
Previous experience of working in the remediation / environmental sector is desirable.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
For this permanent opportunity, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful professionals can expect to target a basic salary of £50,000 – £60,000 per annum.
In addition to this, a competitive package will be offered which includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a fully expensed company car, company mobile and laptop, expenses for accommodation and subsistence will be paid, the opportunity to opt in or out of the company private health insurance, company life cover (4 times your annual salary) and enrolment on to the company pension scheme (6% paid by employer and 3% paid by employee).
