We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor delivering a major long-term infrastructure upgrade in Northern England. This multi-disciplinary project involves the transformation of a key transport route and presents a rare opportunity to be part of a high-impact programme that will shape the future of regional infrastructure.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support commercial operations across a large, complex project. You will be responsible for managing subcontractor relationships, overseeing cost reporting, driving commercial compliance, and ensuring smooth commercial execution from pre-contract to final account.
Maintain high safety and environmental standards in line with company policies.
Ensure adherence to internal commercial procedures and governance frameworks.
Build strong working relationships across internal teams and supply chain partners.
Support staff development through mentoring, performance reviews, and commercial training.
Lead subcontractor engagement, including contract vetting, documentation, and payment processes.
Monitor and report on project financial performance, including producing regular cost reports.
Identify, assess, and manage contractual changes and variations.
Provide timely and accurate applications for payment.
Advise site teams and management on commercial and contractual matters.
Assist in financial assessments and support the resolution of any insurance claims
REQUIREMENTS
Experience with NEC and/or ICC contract forms.
Background in rail or major civil engineering schemes.
Familiarity with joint venture or alliance-style project delivery.
Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors.
Understanding of construction law and standard contractual terms.
