ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Overview:

Our client is currently seeking an exceptional Site Engineer to join their esteemed team and contribute to the success of an ongoing project based in London. As a Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the on-site management team, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure the seamless execution of a mixed-use development. This significant project involves the demolition of an existing building and the construction of an impressive 14-story structure, encompassing both residential and commercial spaces. With a focus on delivering excellence within budget, timeline, and safety parameters, the Senior Engineer will provide invaluable expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. This is a remarkable opportunity to join a highly experienced and reputable construction company, offering the chance to work on prominent projects and contribute to the continued growth and success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with the Project Manager to develop and implement an effective project plan, ensuring alignment with project requirements, specifications, design drawings, and health and safety proposals.
  • Taking the lead in establishing emergency plans and site facilities for the project, meticulously considering the project’s unique requirements.
  • Overseeing the storage facilities for materials, plant, and tools, ensuring efficient stock management to meet the project’s demanding timelines.
  • Demonstrating a strong focus on site security by establishing a secure site environment, including effective access and egress control measures.
  • Developing a comprehensive material schedule, enabling the proactive generation of requisitions to secure the best prices and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to create and maintain a labor schedule, ensuring efficient allocation of subcontractor packages to meet the project’s demanding timeline.
  • Ensuring the provision of first aid facilities and designating a dedicated first aid area, emphasizing the utmost importance of health and safety for all project stakeholders.
  • Championing safety on-site, prioritizing the well-being of the public, site visitors, and staff through the meticulous enforcement of personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, safety instructions, and adherence to all health and safety proposals.
  • Maintaining perimeter barriers and ensuring the security of completed works, stored materials, and plant on-site, safeguarding the project’s integrity.
  • Providing comprehensive management of all site-based operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, including safety inductions, toolbox talks, quality control, adherence to method statements, order fulfillment, cleanliness, proper use of equipment, waste reduction, and compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Upholding stringent quality standards for all construction works, meticulously verifying compliance with required standards for brickwork, plastering, carpentry, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Ensuring that all materials used, including those supplied by subcontractors, are fully compliant with technical and quality specifications, maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and integrity throughout the project.
  • Implementing robust systems

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate needs to have extensive experience in managing a range of projects ideally including residential, commercial and educational, with projects ranging in value from £5m to £60m. The ideal candidate should also have a balance of working on new build, and refurbishment projects.

My client is looking for candidates who can show a stability of employment throughout their career keeping each appointment for a minimum of 3 years per employer.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary of £60,000 to £75,000 + package.
