Operations Manager


As part of the wider Cityscape Recruitment group of companies, Whitelake Recruitment Ltd is our specialist trades & labour (blue collar) division. Working with clients across the UK and further afield, we help secure job opportunities for skilled labour and specialist trades across the build and civil engineering sectors of construction. Based from our groups head office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, we have a fast-paced, professional and fun working environment, where our sales and operations teams work together towards the continued success of the business. Due to growth and expansion, we are looking to add to our existing team to include an operations manager within our Whitelake Recruitment business. The successful individual will work alongside our existing sales and compliance team while reporting to our operations director. Some of the duties of this position are listed below, but each task can be expanded on at the point of the interview:

  • Management and oversight of our RISQS procedures (our rail compliance process which requires data input, management and organisation).
  • Credit control (i.e. chasing debtors via telephone and/or email).
  • Compliance – producing terms of business, right to work, and Sentinel-based documents.
  • Liaising with the umbrella payroll companies – registering contractors/operatives & payroll
  • Maintaining and running timesheet portal (payroll system)
  • Compiling the accounts breakdown for the T&L team
  • General administrative duties


The operations team of our group are incredibly important to the ongoing success and stability of our business, so this is an exciting opportunity for someone to join at the heart of our organisation.


As well as the opportunity to take on a significant role within a growing division of our group, we do understand that the basics have to be right. We are open to discussing full time, part time, or job-sharing possibilities with candidates and we offer flexi-time working arrangements to allow for everyone’s lives outside of work. Our standard holiday allowance is 22 days plus bank holidays with the ability for this to increase with service and purchasing additional allocation. Salary is negotiable based on experience but for the calibre of individual we are looking for, I would expect the successful candidate to be looking to earn anywhere from £27,000 to £32,000 per annum. Pension is provided plus additional office and business wide perks which can be discussed at interview.


To be successful we are looking to speak with applicants who have worked in office / operational management, compliance or payroll focused positions before. If you have any understanding of RISQS or Sentinel, then that is amazing, but realistically training can be provided on the specific systems and software that we use, given you have held similar operational management positions before. The key is we need a motivated individual with an eye for detail and fantastic organisational skills. It is a fast-paced, energetic market that we work in, so our business operates in a similar manor.
