ABOUT THE ROLE

They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, analysing costs, and providing accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

You will be working on highway maintenance, schemes, 278 junction improvements, major road construction, replacing footbridges, and civils schemes.

The client has a strong pipeline of work. A couple of large and secure projects have just been extended with 5-7 years to run. These projects are valued at around £50 million per project.

You will review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation to determine the scope of work, materials required, and labour costs.

You’ll be rewarded with a very competitive salary which ranges from £70,000 – £80,000. It’s important to note that you’ll also get a company car or a car allowance + a good pension plan.

REQUIREMENTS

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, or Business of equivalent qualification.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Civils or highways. Major civils road construction or utilities background is desirable. Teamwork and experience with NEC contracts are essential.

It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as an estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (5-6 years per company you’ve worked for).

The client would also consider someone who has good experience as a QS and is looking to move into an Estimator role.

You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow you to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
