ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is a tier 2 main contractor who works predominantly in London and the South East specialising in the rail industry. They are a multi-disciplined contractor with works ranging from track renewal and maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance, platform extensions, facility management, and Civil Engineering services within a rail environment. The company is currently turning over £80M and has built up a great reputation in the last 20 years, this is due to the quality of their work and this has enabled them to work on large projects such as HS2, Crossrail, and Bank Station upgrade.
ABOUT THE ROLE
My client is looking for an Estimator to join their Rail division in North London. The successful candidate has a great opportunity to progress into a Senior estimator in the next few years. The type of work that you will get involved in ranges from Tunnelling Maintenance, bridges, platform extensions, track renewals, station refurbishments, and station depots. These projects will range in value from £200,000 – £22M. They are looking for somebody who is interested in a long-term job and willing to progress in their career. You will be involved in engaging and obtaining sub-contractor/ material quotes- analyses/ compare and summarise, contributing to the construction of outline tender programmes as well as undertaking site meetings/ surveys.

You will be rewarded with a very competitive salary which ranges from £50,000 – £60,000 + package.
REQUIREMENTS
You will be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND, HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business, or equivalent qualification.
Ideally, I am looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience working as an Estimator for a UK-based Civil Engineering contractor. However, I am also open to looking at a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent who is interested in getting into Estimating. If you are a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer, you need to have had good stability working for Civil Engineering contractors.
You will also need a full UK driver’s license to allow you to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
