Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to work for a Tier Two rail contractor in London?

My client is a tier 2 main contractor who work predominantly in London specialising in the rail industry. My client has recently won a 5-year framework which could be extended up to 8 years working with clients such as Network Rail, TFL and Greater Anglian.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in a lot of client faced meetings as well as ensuring each project is profitable for the company. You will be responsible from the point of mobilisation through to delivery and managing all commercial aspects of the contract. The works include both design and construction services for Lot 9 Off Track Framework. Work types will vary between planned, short notice, reactive and in instances emergency. The scope of works includes civil engineering works, enabling works, demo, drainage, fencing and vegetation management.
As the works are being delivered under Opt C, there will be heavy emphasis on the Qs to work hand-in-hand with the operational team to develop the target cost prices and implement stringent cost control procedures to ensure we benefit from the bonus incentive scheme.
In terms of recording and allocating cost, you will have a senior commercial administrator working with you who will have a significant involvement in managing these more administrative duties.
3. Wessex trackworks framework.
Framework contract, which NR use to procure track maintenance possession-based works delivered in the Wessex region.

About this Recruiter

Alex Jacobs

A bit about me

I have worked in construction recruitment for three years. I started working in the blue-collar sector but have turned my attention to white-collar recruitment here at Cityscape. I specialise in civil engineering opportunities – working with both Tier 1 and 2 clients in the highways, utilities, rail and water sectors. Before working in recruitment, I spent 20 years in the Arts where I was lucky enough to travel the world. But there are always more places to see so, travel remains important to me. I am into sports and am an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotspur. I have a wife and two children and live in Aylesbury. Most of my spare time involves parenting and entertaining the kids.

What our clients say

We have worked with Alex Wallace and the Cityscape Recruitment team for a number of years now and find their service excellent.

They supply well matched and vetted candidates and very quickly understood all our requirements. They have always demonstrated good market knowledge and an ability to deliver to our requirements.

Commercial Director,
Main Contractor

I have used Cityscape Recruitment multiple times over the last 5 years. Very pleasant to deal with and all candidates put forward for interview are well suited to the position and well vetted by the team, so there is no time wasted with unsuitable applicants. I would highly recommend Cityscape. I intend to use them again in the future should any vacancies become available.

Operations Director,
Platt and Reilly Ltd

The Cityscape Recruitment team has always been great to deal with. Always ready to listen to our needs and requirements, a quality some recruiters do not appreciate or have, then advising where they can assist in our staff procurement. We look forward to working with Laura and Cityscape in the coming years.
